Peter Brown, is a Bath based impressionist painter specialising in depictions of street scenes and city landscapes and is affectionately known as ‘Pete the Street.’ He works in situ, and in all weather, having developed his own ‘en plein air’ style.
Peter is a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Pastel Society and is an honorary member of The Royal Society of British Artists. In 2006, he became the first Artist in Residence at The Savoy Hotel, London. Peter is represented by Messum’s of Cork Street, London and regularly shows at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath.
As Artist in Residence at Prior Park College, Peter has painted a selection of scenes of the College site and some of the key events that have taken place in Our Lady of the Snows Chapel. These will be sold at an exhibition and auction at Prior Park, on Thursday 26 April, in support of the College Chapel Appeal which aims to raise £1.5M to help preserve the structure and improve the facilities within the Chapel.
